Mike Meldrum composed "Rock Creek Rag" while camping in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.
Because of hand and other serious injuries in the military, he developed the tune as a finger exercise for playing his tenor banjo.
Mike was awarded two Purple Hearts plus other decorations for his service in the Vietnam War.
